Barovier & Toso Decorative Murano Candelestick with Gold Rope Cordonato Oro.A Classic example of ‘cordonato oro’ (gold rope) technique with lobed and ribbed sections creating the main vessel and pulled at opposite ends to make a scrolled handle. This unsigned piece can be attributed to Barovier & Toso and would date to the late 1950s or 1960s. The spirals of gold inclusions are nicely controlled and centred within the ribs and the base is finely polished.A fine example of craftsmanship made in Murano using well-established traditions of Venetian glass.This item is not marked (usually such items from Barovier were only given a paper label).We specialise in Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Vintage lighting:With best wishes, Geert.
