Description

A Classic example of ‘cordonato oro’ (gold rope) technique with lobed and ribbed sections creating the main vessel and pulled at opposite ends to make a scrolled handle. This unsigned piece can be attributed to Barovier & Toso and would date to the late 1950s or 1960s. The spirals of gold inclusions are nicely controlled and centred within the ribs and the base is finely polished.
A fine example of craftsmanship made in Murano using well-established traditions of Venetian glass.

This item is not marked (usually such items from Barovier were only given a paper label).
