Description
This unusual Belgian piece has the hallmarks of Art Nouveau and combines a ceramic gateau plate in a wrought iron carrier,
The ceramic plate produced in Germany, features an Art Nouveau design of waterlillies and was produced, 1910-1920.
The separate handmade wrought iron carrier is measured to exactly secure the plate without any risk of slippage. It has been further embellished with a few black metal leaves and sprigs to soften the lines and create a practical yet unobtrusive centrepiece for cake at your afternoon tea table in Art Nouveau style. Also a good, flat base for a centrepiece flower-arrangement.
Both parts are unmarked.
Both items are in fine condition with only the faintest signs of use.
